Introduction to Research at the Criss Library

Tips on how to use this Research Guide:

Finding articles:

This page contains a list of databases containing articles for your research topic. Communication Source is probably your best bet, however depending on your topic other databases will have relevant information as we. For example, if you are looking for emerging markets you might try the business databases. If you are looking more for information about culture and communication you might try JSTOR or Project Muse.

Finding books:

This guide has been created to help you navigate the various research tools available to you at the Criss Library. The first page will highlight the items you'll find in the catalog. The catalog will index books, CD's, DVD's, musical scores, maps, government documents, Special Collections and the University Archives, along with journal title-level information.

"Beat" Pages:

These pages have been created to help you find city/county/state/federal agencies and institutions related to your public affairs reporting assignment.  They are not exhaustive but may provide links to get you started.

Websites, links and associations:

Within this page, you will find websites, links and associations of interest to researchers in the very broad field of communication.
