LibGuides Workshops - Summer 2016

This is the homepage for the Summer 2016 LibGuides workshops, including information on specific issues covered and best practices.

Schedule of events

June 1: Homepage content. We'll be looking at our LibGuide homepages to make sure that they contain strong, clear content, with an eye to making the guide navigable.

June 8: Word choice. This workshop will be focused on word choice (i.e. eliminating jargon) and cutting down on extraneous words.

June 15: Link checking. The primary purpose of this workshop is to check that links are not broken and are pointing to the correct pages, which is especially important for our library since we just switched to a new website and catalog interface. We'll also be making sure that links are designated correctly in the system and annotated well.

June 22: Final checklist. This is a catchall day where we'll be revisiting any leftover issues from previous sessions, as well as issues covered in last year's workshops.
