Welcome!
The Research Services Unit at UNO's Criss Library offers visiting high schools library tours and some classroom instruction in research. I am Emily Kesten, dual enrollment coordinator and reference associate at Criss Library. Library Instruction/Tours
- High school instructors and librarians may request instruction or lab time to use Criss databases and collections
- Instruction must be made at least 2 weeks in advance
- Priority is given to UNO classes
- Class sizes should be kept around 20 students or less
- A ratio of one high school instructor per 15-20 students is recommended
- To request instruction or lab space, please fill out the request form or email ekesten@unomaha.edu
- Criss Library may cancel or reschedule classes
Resources Available
- Anyone can access our databases on campus; off-campus access is reserved for UNO faculty, students, and staff.
- Criss has open wifi access for those who bring their own device.
- Printing costs 5 cents per page (b&w) and 30 cents per page for color. Students may purchase a reloadable gift card for $1, which comes with a balance of 50 cents.
Material Checkout
- High school students may check out materials through the High School User Program or a parent or guardian signing up for a Friends of the Library user account.
- The High School User Program schools must appoint a contact person and agree to be financially responsible for outstanding fees and fines accrued by students.
- Students complete a contract that is signed by the appointed contact person and returned to the library.
- Students may check out up to 5 books.
