Journal Impact

A journal's Impact Factor can help you determine how important it is in the field. Here are two databases that are useful in determining the impact factor. These databases track citations to determine how many scholars are citing articles from particular journals.

Select "browse by journal," then select the category from the menu options on the left, then scroll down and click "submit."

Google Scholar Metrics
Use this tool to explore publications in research areas of your interest. To explore specific research areas, select one of the broad areas, click on the "Subcategories" link and then select one of the options.

Finding Journal Information

MLA Directory of Periodicals includes publishing and indexing information about journals:
