BOC Preparation Tools and WebsiteThe Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) was incorporated in 1989 to provide a certification program for entry-level Athletic Trainers (ATs) and has been responsible for the certification of ATs since 1969. The BOC establishes and regularly reviews both the standards for the practice of athletic training and the continuing education requirements for ATs. Since 1982, the BOC has been continuously accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and the BOC has the only accredited certification program for ATs in the US.
