When you click to view an e-book, you will be prompted to log-in to your library account to confirm that you are a UNO student and eligible for access. If you have not set up a Criss Library account, you may click here to see instructions. Library accounts are NOT automatically set up for all students for privacy issues.

Criss Library has access to over 500,000 e-Books, and they are recorded in the library catalog. The e-books come from various distributors and can be read online or downloaded to local devices.
Detailed instructions for using E-Books are available in this Research Guide: E-Books--How to Find and Download.
The library's collection of e-books is growing rapidly, but we still purchase print books and house a collection of over 700,000 volumes. These books are recorded in the library catalog, and online and distance education students may submit Interlibrary Loan requests to borrow them.
Remember to identify yourself as a online or distance education student so you get priority status (this can be done in the "Notes" section of the request form). When you submit an ILL request for a book owned by UNO Libraries please include a current address. ILL staff will ship you the book via UPS and you will be required to pay for return shipping also through UPS.
If you only need to view certain chapters of the book, you can request those chapters be scanned and made available as a PDF through the interlibrary loan system.
The library catalog also includes records for thousands of documents issued by the U.S. Government Printing Office and the State of Nebraska. Those documents published after 2000 often have PDF versions available, and you may access them via the catalog. Government Documents are non-commercial publications, and they do not require a login to view.
