UNO Criss Library Creative Production Lab Policies

A complete collection of all patron-facing policies concerning the use and access to the CPL.

CPL Tour Policy

All tours for the Creative Production Lab, Studio A and Studio B, must be requested at least 10 days in advance of when the tour is requested to happen. Unscheduled class tours are liable to be turned away at the door.

Tours can be requested for Studio A, Studio B, or both. Studio A consists of patron facing technology including our computer lab, video recording spaces, audio recording spaces, and 3D printers. Studio B consists of non-patron facing technology including our large format printers and laser cutter/engraver.

UNO Tours

Walkthrough tours for educational groups and classes can accommodate up to 20 UNO students inside of the CPL at any one time. Due to space, larger groups will be asked to split up into smaller units before being allowed into the CPL.

Larger groups or groups present at times where significant patron disruption of current patron work may occur, may be asked to step outside of the CPL and will be given an overview tour using our display case and technology visible through the glass walls.

Faculty is open to include the CPL as a suggested resource within syllabi, but should direct students to our web policy documentation to review current technology requirements, pricing, and access priorities.

External Partner Tours

Walkthrough tours for educational groups and classes can accommodate up to 15 individuals ages 8+ inside of the CPL at any one time. Due to space, larger groups will be asked to split up into smaller units before being allowed into the CPL.

Student groups younger than 19 will be required to have additional adult chaperones present at all times. Groups must have a 5 to 1 student to chaperone ratio unless prior arrangements are made. Chaperones will be responsible for the behavior, preparation, and attentiveness of their groups at all times, and are asked to limit disruption of patrons working in the space.  Groups will be given a 15-30 minute overview of the space, all equipment, and general rundown of projects, applications, and access as a community member.

Larger groups or groups present at times where significant patron disruption of current patron work may occur, may be asked to step outside of the CPL and will be given an overview tour using our display case and technology visible through the glass walls.
