Whisperbooth Audio Recording Booth
UNO community members can make appointments for the audio booth through libcal.unomaha.edu or from a tab on the Creative Production Lab home page with an active @unomaha email address. Appointments can be made for up to 2 hours per day per person.
Patrons can use the audio booth without a reservation, but may have to give up the booth for someone with a reservation. Existing or upcoming reservations take priority over walk-ins or reservations over their time. Patrons will be requested to end use of the audio booth in such circumstances, even if it means a current recording cannot be completed.
Files can be saved via usb drive, or uploaded to a personal cloud storage profile. Files stored on the Whisperbooth PC are subject to irretrievable deletion without notice at any time.
The Whisperbooth can accommodate up to 2 mics and 2 people per session within the space. The CPL offers one studio condenser mic and a basic wired performance mic routed through a Scarlet 2i2 usb interface. All recordings are done via Adobe Audition.
At request, patrons can route the 2i2 via usb to their own laptop, or use their own xlr microphone with approval from staff.
Priority for the use of the Whisperbooth PC is given to recording needs first. Patrons should move to an available Mac for purposes of editing once they have finished recording.
