Large Format Printing

Our large format printing services are open for both personal and academic requests for the UNO community with an updated pricing model. Personal projects may be quantity restricted. Check current pricing and information on our request form.

The UNO Criss Library is in compliance with all applicable copyright laws. Academic print pricing is reserved for UNO students, faculty, and staff, recognized CEC partners, and for UNO affiliated event participants. All other requests will be processed at the current personal project pricing. Creative Production Lab services are not available for commissioned work and profit enterprises.

For specialty mass quantity printing on standard papers (flyers/handbills/business cards), academic units should reach out to the UNMC Print Shop.

Large format prints are processed on our 2018 Epson SureColor P8000 Designer Edition Printer or 2023 Epson SureColor P8570D. All requests are printed on rolled Epson Enhanced Matte paper (10.3mil, 192gsm) available in 17, 24 inch, 36 inch, or 44 inch widths. A small amount of excess paper may be left beyond a file’s requested or designed size that will incur cost and must be trimmed by the patron. CPL facilities can accommodate trimming of paper up to 40” in length.

Prints made on our Epson Large Format printers can be no larger than 43.5" x 72". Smaller files will be printed on the smallest width roll paper necessary to fit your image, but will print a minimum of 8" of length.

Patrons should default to a minimum 300 dpi, non-editable, PDF file for request submission. Files submitted in other formats (JPG, PNG, TIFF, or TGA) may lack print sizing data or correct color profiles, but are still printable at request. All files will be opened in, and printed from, Adobe Photoshop in CMYK preview mode. CPL staff will not print from editable file formats (PSD, DOCX, PPTX, etc) as this may result in unintended alteration of the file prior to printing. For help in preparing files for printing, CPL computers and one on one aid is available.

Both printers can accommodate patron provided sheet media 13” x 19” and larger. Flat media up to 1.5mm thick can be top loaded into the printer for fine art papers or poster board. Patrons must know the source and trade-name of the provided media. Media must meet minimum weight and density requirements, in addition to being lint and moisture-free. Non-commercial hand-made papers are not accepted at this time. Appointments for sheet media printing can be made by email, and are subject to approval on inspection of provided media by the current CPL supervisor.

Prints not picked up within one week of completion will receive an email notification as a reminder. Prints not picked up 14 days after initial notice of completion will have a fine placed on the patron account and the print will be recycled. Prints associated with a cost center will be recycled after 14 days and the charge will be submitted for cost center processing.
